Zaya, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I came to the United States from Mongolia to study and learn the art of business with the dream of one day operating my own. I came with all my savings, which was just enough to afford a semester. A day after my arrival I immediately began an on-campus job working in the school cafeteria.
This job, amongst several others, provided me the means to pay my tuition in full. Upon graduation, I continued working in information technology, a role which I carried over from being a student worker to a university employee.
So about 7 years ago, a time I yearned for change, I left the security of full-time employment and embarked upon a journey of operating my own business. It took a leap of faith along with hard work and discipline but I was able to bring my dream to fruition.
Now I’m leading a modern leasing agency in the highly desirable City of Angels. During this time period, I’ve successfully matched sellers with buyers, landlords with tenants, and families and individuals with homes. I ‘m so proud to call myself an Angelino. This city has adopted me as one of its own since I’ve arrived. LA has graciously afforded me the opportunities to explore and work many of its diverse and eclectic neighborhoods.
From Downtown, to the hip Los Feliz, trendy Silver Lake, and techie Westside to name a few. I’m proud and honored that I’ve been a trusted source for over thousands of families and individuals. Thanks to the respect and trust bestowed upon me by my clients. I’ve been inspired and empowered to successfully grow my business. It has been a very humbling experience.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Smooth! I get no greater joy than matching happy landlords with quality tenants. However, it has had its twists and turns. Fortunately for me, the good has outweighed the bad. As a result, I have gained invaluable skills as well as become more compassionate and detail oriented in order to exceed the client’s expectations.
What I struggle the most is that the ratio of home seekers to available housing is currently greater than the market supply. I wish I could walk all home seekers into their dream homes.
