Meet Young Nut

Today we’d like to introduce you to Young Nut.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Young Nut. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’m 21 years old now and I started making music when I was a freshman in college. I’ve always loved music and writing, and I had been doing stand-up since I was like 15 years old and wanted to find another outlet to get my thoughts out. I dropped a few songs and eventually, one of them ended up getting like 10 million streams. Since then, I’ve dropped a couple of projects and several singles and have been fortunate enough to find success. I’ve gone on two small tours around the country, been able to take some meetings, and last year I attended the Grammys. During the quarantine, I’ve been reflecting on everything going on and feel like I’ve changed a lot, and I’ve been working some new music that I’m excited to share in the future.

Has it been a smooth road?
More or less. Just trying to grow everything is tough. Being able to get people to care about what you have to say is tough, too. Growing really in every sense of the word, I guess. You dont want to stay stagnant. I’m a confident guy though so I try to take everything in stride.

Can you give our readers some background on your music?
I’m a rapper and musician. I’m most known for my songs, I guess. They have millions of streams which is very cool and I am proud of that. I don’t really follow a lot of the trends which helps me stand out.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I mean, yeah. It’s kinda where you have to be. It’s big though, and everyone is out for themselves, so just finding people who care about you is tough.
