Meet Yoshi Hagiwara of Yoshi Hair Studio in Beverly Hills

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yoshi Hagiwara.

Yoshi was trained in Tokyo, Japan at the young age of 16. In 1987, Yoshi brought his talents to the U.S. and now, he has established himself as a force in the beauty industry and has built a reputation as one of the most sought after hair stylists in Beverly Hills.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road to my success was not always smooth and easy. I struggled for two years starting my career in Beverly Hills. I was not a busy hairdresser at all. First, there was a language barrier moving from Japan to the U.S. Then the struggle of styling 80s hair styles was very big and something I was not families with. I also gave up on my career. One day I was in the salon feeling down. I looked over and I saw two different water bottles, they both do the same job but one was more expenses and fancy looking. The other was just a normal dollar bottle.

Then I thought to myself, what makes then different. If they do the same job. It was all in the design. Since then I started to create my own design and style with hair. After that my career started.

What are you and Yoshi Hair Studio known for?
I am known for haircut and giving makeovers. I cut base on face shape and lifestyle.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would have gone nothing different. I learned my lesson and I have grown from them.
