Hi Yoe, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My dream started in Venezuela, where I was born and raised. After working for someone else for a short period of time, I quickly realized that I wanted to work for myself. Not only do I have an entrepreneurial spirit, I want to make a difference for others and that can only happen if I own my own business. My dream was fulfilled upon coming to America. You could say I embody the American Dream as I have now been the owner of Yoeweb Design, one of the most recognized branding and marketing companies in Downey, for the past 8 years. Additionally, I have had the pleasure of cofounding Networking MixUp, a safe, collaborative space where entrepreneurs can connect and learn from each other. As a lesbian Latina, I proudly identify as an Inclusionist (someone who considers all), championing the values of kindness and acceptance.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Starting and running my own business has not been easy. I have had to face challenges head-on, from mastering a new language to fully embracing American culture and norms. I strongly believe in the universe’s potential for positive transformation. Being resilient and determined allowed me to persevere and stand out from the competition. I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge my supportive wife, mom, Toby, Josh Johnson, and Yoeweb’s team as an integral part of my success.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
Choosing just one memory is not easy. One that comes to mind is the memory of receiving my first computer as a Christmas present. My mother worked so hard to afford that computer, knowing I was passionate about technology even at the age of 7 years old. I’m grateful to the Universe for allowing me the honor of being my Mami’s daughter.
