Meet Yi Zhou of Global Intuition in Beverly Hills

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yi Zhou.

So, before we jump into specific questions about what you do, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Raised in Rome, Italy. I am an International multimedia artist, filmmaker and influencer whose video works have been shown at Shanghai Biennale, Venice Biennale, Sundance Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival. I have garnered international attention for being positioned as an artist and influencer and endorsing for brands globally including: Levi’s, DFS, Conrad Hotel, Iceberg, Persol, Clarins and Shiseido.

I moved to LA in late 2017 and founded content creating studio YiZhouStudio LA in 2018 as the USA branch and am currently in development of my first feature film Stars and Scars as a writer/director. I also founded a new fashion and lifestyle brand Global Intuition that launched in fall 2018 with a debut at Fred Segal SUNSET window design and party.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I think one major obstacle that I have encountered starting my business is trying to start a brand with a team that was on the other side of the world. Like every entrepreneur, my vision was to increase sales immediately when Global Intuition’s line dropped, but it was hard to communicate my immediate needs for sales to a team that is nearly 15 hours ahead of the U.S. As a result of my frustration, I started building a team in LA.

Please tell us about Global Intuition.
Global Intuition is a Shanghai & LA-based minimal, soulful luxury brand that bridges the gap between fashion and intuition. Inspired by the digital footprint of social media, Global Intuition’s luxury basic essentials are made to highlight your authentic self and showcase self-confidence online and off.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
One of my favorite memories as a child was walking the streets of Rome at Piazza di Spagna with my dad. I was really intrigued by the sense of style contained in all the stores there. From that fond memory, I realized that everything has a story and a sense of style.
