Meet Yasmine Kateb

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yasmine Kateb.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started photography in 2011 in Houston, Texas. I started out photographing portfolios for models and talents. My main reason for getting into photography was to help empower women and men who struggle with their self-image.

I believe every single human being is beautiful in their own unique way. I want to capture that beauty and show them what I see. I moved to Los Angeles in 2015 to expand and further my career as a photographer.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I have experienced all my ups and downs along the way, and I still do. I believe that you can’t grow without struggle. Struggle really is a beautiful thing in my eyes, it’s a foundation to all my creations. There have been many times where I had had opportunities slip away from me without ever knowing the reason.

During these bumps on the road, I kept going and realized that I must stay focused and learn how to separate my emotions from work. I have been fortunate enough to work alongside many people that have trusted my vision. Without these special people, this road would not have been as smooth.

We’d love to hear more about what you do.
My photography company has been up and running since 2011. I started out in Houston, Texas in a little house studio. While my business was growing, I started receiving phone calls from clients all around the world. At this time, I decided to move out to Los Angeles to expand my business. I consider my business to be a one-stop shop.

I am known for my fashion portraits while specializing in fashion, weddings, beauty, commercial, and talents. I am most proud of the career advancements I witness with my clients. Seeing some of them start from scratch and finding the success they are looking for is what makes me happy.

What I believe sets me apart from others is using my artistic background in painting to create an image with light as paint with the energy I see and feel.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I believe hard work and true passion is what attracts good luck into my life. I view bad luck more as a test than anything else.
