Yannah Rose “The Nurse with a Voice” was born in Philadelphia, PA to a Jazz Performer and US Army Veteran Father. After high school graduation, Ayannah attended and graduated from Rutgers University College of Nursing in “Brick City” Newark, New Jersey. Home of Stolen cars and dark clouds, Yannah Rose emerged from the Concrete there in 2002 by Graduating from the degree program Majoring in Nursing, minoring in MUSIC and WOMEN”s studies. She developed a deep listening skill and ear for music and created her own SOUND. Recording dozens of sounds in underground local studios. She linked with Local film producers, artists, and directors as a Musician and Underground Executive. As Entrepreneurship grew into an Era it Awakened the Brand in PRETTY ROSES ENTERTAINMENT Born in 2010. The Motto of “Self Actualization” was Born. The Pandemic of 2020 allowed Yannah Rose to Blossom in Los Angeles in her Hollywood “Rose Lair” and create.. Dusting off Audio tapes from 1996 to the current and Real. Yannah Rose has worked with Artist kike Pacewon, Young Zee Outsiders, Do It All, and recently received recognition from The Game this November 2020 after linking with star maker engineer Prince Sillah referred by B Eazy DJ an amazing DJ from Compton, California.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Being a woman involved with men in hip hop is tricky in dealing with sexuality. Being respected as a female founder and leader is difficult. Sexual expression and freedom are often misunderstood as “ho” or ‘thot” behavior. Negativity is more attractive to human nature and I’m a positive person. Luckily times are evolving and similar thinking patterns as mine have been noted recently. It’s great but I want recognition to my contributions to society at this point in my career because I want the power to make change.
We’ve been impressed with Pretty Roses Entertainment LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Pretty Roses Entertainment was born in 2010 because I have been behind the scenes supporting and rooting on other local stars. I kept getting attention for my looks but I wasn’t an actress. I never slept around so the crew always kept me in the back, even though I was pretty with sex appeal. I wasn’t doing music full time, I knew I had talent but felt no one really believed, and I had a son to feed since falling in love with a music producer in 1999 in college. I was stuck in the middle. I created this brand the represents that space in between me and others. The Believe in One Self.
