Meet Yadira Roman of Durga Pranic Healing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yadira Roman.

Yadira, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’m an active Reiki Master and Art Therapy based instructor. My journey with opening Durga Pranic Healing began when I first arrived to LA about a year and a half ago. I was in a space where I found myself choosing to continue pursuing my career in the Film Industry, or looking within to understand what my true purpose in life was. I had studied and worked in film back in New York where I’m originally from, however I found that once I got here my desire to do so faded rapidly. I wasn’t interested in any form of work I had previously done. So, I turned to my personal spiritual practices to find the answer. I’m clairvoyant, meaning I receive intuitive information visually, I used this gift to look deep within myself and see what I wasn’t willing to with my blind eye. After months of meditating on this question, it came to me that I was to pursue my life as a healer. So I began with energy work using Reiki as my main modality. This opened up many opportunities for me in terms of relationships and experiencing myself on a deeper level.

My visions became more enhanced and the answers to my life purpose began showing up for me through my creativity and my past experiences. In this time, I have based Durga Pranic Healing on Art Therapy methods incorporated with the Reiki healing experience. I have found that both practices combined are truly effective for individuals who not only want to heal, but also elevate their relationship with themselves and those around them.

Has it been a smooth road?
Not at all. I smile when I say this because the absence of the light is a necessary part in our journey. I struggled with my insecurities and financial stability. I was choosing to do something that wasn’t set in stone for me in the material world. I didn’t understand at the time just how capable I was of creating abundance and opportunity in every experience. So initially, there was a burden to make money- and you can’t start any business with your main goal being to make money. If you’re going to do something it’s gotta be pure, it gets to come from a place of love, and only that. I went through a period of financial struggle, and having the people in my life witness this triggered some insecurities within me. I didn’t want to look like the lost child who didn’t know what she was doing. I knew I had been awoken as a healer for a reason greater than myself, but I also knew something wasn’t right and so I took a break to look within once again and find that place of love that would drive my vision for my life, and that’s how Paint and Heal came to life, my passion is in the arts, and my touch is in energy work. Realizing I could combine the two without having to choose one or the other has been liberating.

Durga Pranic Healing uses healing practices such as angel readings, reiki, and vision quests to delve into the root of healing- however what sets us apart is that we incorporate this with Art Therapy. Those who come to our classes get the experience of both practices. Not only will they spend time receiving Reiki healing and learning how to channel their energy effectively, but they are also given the creative environment to move this energy through art.

This all happens in one class, they come in and we bounce back and forth from each modality for two hours. It’s a very active experience and I’m deeply passionate about the impact it creates for others including myself.

I’m very proud of this work, it warms my heart to know I can integrate both my passions and create a positive outcome for others in doing so.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Absolutely. LA is an amazing city for artists as well as light workers. There is an immense level of opportunity here and I’ve found many people here are dedicated to their health. Both art and energy work are a great form of support for your health and people here know this. They take the time and commit to experiencing both of these things no matter the time or cost.
