Today we’d like to introduce you to The Brave Program.
The Brave Program, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
The Brave Program started by a group of women who have struggled with hair loss and some who have worked in the hair loss community. The first person who brought the idea to life was Mona Zargar owner of The Wig Fairy Salon. Mona started her career as a wig designer from the garage of her own home. Most of her clientele were women in the Jewish community looking to buy wigs. As her business grew, she quickly realized that more and more women were coming due to hair loss and needed guidance. Sometimes the hair loss was genetic and other times due to chemotherapy. More and more clients shared their struggles with hair loss, some of these struggles included finding remedies, specialists, products, financial distress due to medical expenses and so much more. Mona gathered some of her personal clients and created The Brave Program together. The Brave Program is now a platform of resources for women suffering from hair loss and also offers free wigs for women who cannot afford them during difficult times.
Has it been a smooth road?
We’ve learned so much along the way and grow very close relationships with our applicants. From time to time, we hear that some of our applicants have passed and/or continue to struggle and that is always difficult news to receive.
Please tell us about The Brave Program.
WHO DO WE HELP? After hair loss warriors receive their diagnosis, they still have another uphill battle ahead. The Brave Program has committed to serve these women to the source for finding aesthetic experts, treatment-safe products, medical experts and more for the post-diagnosis and treatment phase. The Brave Squad is a community of trusted professionals, doctors, volunteers and supporters who are all equipped to offer access to resources that will help women who are battling hair loss. We do the research for you, so you can focus on YOU! Our partnerships aim to alleviate some of the financial burdens that come with treating hair loss conditions and other medical causes. We aim to have our partners offer discounts and special rates for all services and products that we list. To kick off the program, we have partnered with The Wig Fairy Salon in Beverly Hills, CA to pioneer our wig-gifting program. This partnership was created to help women who cannot afford a customized human wig that not only last a lifetime but will help instill body positivity during this difficult time.
