Meet Will McGrath, Kevin Dimpsey and Stone Thompson of The Patients in Culver City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Will McGrath, Kevin Dimpsey and Stone Thompson.

Will, Kevin and Stone, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
The three of us come from a similar musical mantra which is that through consistent practice, collaborative songwriting process, and unified vision the purest music can be created. All of us had moonlit in prior musical projects and eventually stumbled upon each other and began what would be The Patients. Our unique approach has now paid off in the form of our debut album “I Am Your Muse” which was released earlier this year.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Everyone loves a VH1 behind the music story but honestly, this does not reflect our history. All three members of The Patients have been through many of the pitfalls that come with being in a band. We were all able to bring our past individual experience to the table. Our biggest asset has been working together and listening to each other.

Tell us more about your band.
We are a band. We write songs, we play live, and we record. It’s been totally up to us to schedule practice, book shows, get a record together and promote it. We are totally self-made. Everything you see and hear is us.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Stone: “I liked playing hide and go seek with my friends”

Will: “Sharing ice cream with my dog”

Kevin: “Collecting bugs”
