Meet Whitney Gamble

Hi Whitney, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have always had a special affinity for the camera. Whether in front of or behind it, disposable or cost of rent in LA, I’ve always had that “eye” as people call it. I was always the designated photo taker when hanging out with girlfriends, and that’s because they knew “Whitney will never post a picture where we don’t all look bomb!” Earlier this year, I got my dream job as a flight attendant.

Something I’ve been trying to achieve for yeeeears. I had a start date of March 30, 2020, but Covid had other plans. Ten days before being told to quit my job and come to training, my dream job had to be put on hold….until further notice. Dagger…..I don’t even have a start date now. At that point, I knew it was time to invest in me and take a creative leap of faith. It was time to invest in a great camera that allows me to create. I wanted to start with the basics because knowing megapixels just wasn’t gonna cut it. I studied photography for the first four months of the pandemic, and the best camera that will fit my needs. My first photoshoot literally birthed my photography career overnight, and I can’t remember what life was like before this…

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It actually has been quite a smooth road Thank God!! I am so grateful I had the knowledge of veterans that have been in the photography and videography game for years to help guide me so I don’t make rookie mistakes. My only “struggle” if you want to refer to it as that was learning to shoot on manual mode on my camera. Learning the best settings to shoot with on your own camera instead of AUTO can be a little challenging.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a Black Female Photographer and Videographer! I am versed with several photography styles but Boudoir is my specialty! There is nothing like two women coming together and making beautiful, sexy, classy art! I have a special knack for making everyone, even the most inexperienced people feel comfortable and beautiful in their skin in front of the camera. I do my part to create a great vibe with my clients prior to shooting. Shooting with me is truly an experience. From direction to my excitement of catching those money shots, I am most proud when I see how much people love themselves on camera and what WE’VE created!

How do you think about luck?
The bad luck of timing with the coronavirus took away my dream job temporarily….but created my biggest blessing in disguise. If you told me last year, I’d become a business owner and own my own photography and videography company I would have thought you took a strong dose of shrooms, lol.
