Today we’d like to introduce you to Pheren Soepadhi.
Pheren, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started as a Fashion Photographer, Fashion Stylist, and Fashion Designer 9 years ago in my hometown, Jakarta, Indonesia, also a part-time photographer at TV Stations. And I’ve got discovered by Kaila to do a photo exhibition in Hollywood back in 2012, and followed by another two photo exhibitions in 2013 and 2014 also in Hollywood, I also won an award from The Annual G.O.D Awards as the photographer of the year 2013 at the Emmys/ Television Academy, I’ve also worked as the art director and fashion stylist for some music video projects for Sony Music in Miami, as well as for other music company in Los Angeles. Currently, I am more focus on my accessories line called Pheren Couture. I design couture shoulder pieces and bracelets.
Has it been a smooth road?
For the first two years in Los Angeles, It was a rocky road to get where I am now ( of course! haha ) , and because I need to start all over again in LA. As we all know, LA is the city of entertainment/ creative industry, most people who live in LA are very creative. You really need to be very good in it to be discovered and it was very difficult to get a job with your desired salary. It’s been very challenging but I love challenge,
Do you feel luck has played a role in your life?
Most of the time, I think the good luck is on my side. hehe
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Plan well, strong vision, risk-taker ( we never know until we try), always give your best in everything, always learn new things, get involve in communities, give the positive vibes around everyone.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
We have everything in LA. I love the mountains and forest. I think I love everything about LA haha ( I can’t think of something that I don’t like)
