Today we’d like to introduce you to Adriane Leigh.
Adriane, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Art has always been my escape. I never attended an art school or class, it comes to me from a special place, a creative energy that I want to share with people, inspire people, tell a story, share a piece of my soul, create artistic pieces that will outlast my human experience. Art is free expression, with no rules, no guidelines, it’s marvelous. When I was 15 my first job was teaching art at a children’s center, I’ve always known my existence would not be satisfied unless it involved a form of creativity. My channels of creativity now encompass many avenues, Creative Director, Visual Designer, Fashion Designer and Artist.
Has it been a smooth road?
Continual distractions left my creativity abandoned for years. The struggle was to believe, and accept that I have a creative purpose and remain focused. It’s easy to get wrapped up in the whirlwind of life, I had to slow it down, clear the fog, and keep pushing towards my goals.
What are some of the influences that have played the biggest role in your journey so far?
My art team aka “art family” that extends from NYC, Miami, LA we’re painters, street artists, tattoo artist, cartoonist and beyond all pushing and inspiring one another to keep going, keep creating. These marvelous humans have been essential in picking me up when I felt uninspired and reigniting creativity through their words and art.
Do you have a favorite type of client or project?
I love clients that give me creative freedom and trust my vision. It makes the project more enjoyable, and the outcome more natural.
What have been some of the most important lessons you’ve learned over the course of your career?
In actuality numerous things I wish I did differently, however, each one was an element of the framework and journey. My company name is Efilsitra: art is life backwards. Art is life and life is art, and I consciously try to live mine without regrets, only progression, and lessons.
