Today we’d like to introduce you to Wendy Wright.
Wendy, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have been a Hollywood Talent Agent and then a Talent Manager for over 15 years. During that time, I saw a tremendous need to support actors who were not yet represented. They come out of film schools or colleges with degrees in theater but still no idea on how to become professional working actors. In fact through the years, I saw horrible submissions with lousy headshots, poor acting clips and amateur cover letters that end up in the trash of most agents and managers. I realized these amazing dreamers would be stuck with just a dream if they didn’t receive concrete, professional guidance from within the industry to take them to the next levels. Acting schools just don’t train actors on the business of acting.
Several years ago I started sharing critical, career building information with actors on my YouTube Channel SECRETS OF A HOLLYWOOD TALENT MANAGER and almost 90,000 subscribers and 4.5 Million views later it is the #1 YouTube Channel for actors.
The amount of questions I receive on YouTube and my Instagram Channel is so overwhelming that I had to find another way to help actors even more. I created a Facebook group called Talent Managers For Actors with my friend Susan Ferris who is a Manager and owner of Bohemia group. I invited over 200 of my friends and colleagues who are agents, managers, casting directors, and acting coaches into the group to help us guide actors. It now is the most powerful industry Facebook group with over 65,000 actors with some of Hollywood’s top agents, managers, and casting directors. It is an amazing community filled with love, encouragement and support.
The demand for my personal coaching became overwhelming and I needed to create a way to coach thousands of people personally so I created an online course called The Hollywood Winners Circle Master Class for Actors. The HWC course makes it easier for actors to pursue a professional acting career, gives them an exact blueprint to follow developed after years of research with agents and managers. It helps people fulfill their potential, shows them how to create an outstanding marketing package that makes them attractive to representation.
The actors taking the HWC Master Course are having outrageous results. They are booking network costars, guest stars, recurring and landing lead roles in films. This year one of our HWCA students Isabella Ferreira became a series regular on Hulu’s “Love Victor,” Maksym Kapitanchuk starred in the Oscar Nominated film Run Walk ChaCha and Paula Fairbrother produced the Emmy nominated film “I Stand: Guardians Of The Water.”

This year my team and I changed our company name to Hollywood Winners Circle Academy as we have begun to add additional courses. We launched the HWC Parent Course for parents of child actors. This group of people are some of the most scammed and mis-lead people in the business. I am determined to do something about that. Has it been a smooth road?
Life is full of ups and downs and I learn from both failures and my victories. Everything I have worked for over the years has required me to push myself past my comfort zones, to push myself to a better version of me. Every day I try to do better than the day before, to be more than the day before. I face my fears and push through them, I face my weakness and strengthen them. I work hard on getting the most out of this life as I can because I am extremely, extremely grateful for every moment. One challenge I had was growing up in the 60’s and 70’s in Connecticut where I experienced racism and bullying regularly. Being biracial, black & white puts me in a special position of being able to love both black and white people equally. So things in life are not black or white for me, I tend to see all sides of every issue and look for solutions to problems. Struggles are just opportunities to become stronger and people are capable of so much more than they know. I teach people how build a career in the industry but also how to overcome challenges, fears and self-doubt.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I am known for being very direct, dishing out some tough love and fighting hard for people to succeed. I receive thousands of comments and messages from people who are grateful to have someone who believes in them. That makes me really happy and proud to be a part of people’s success and to be instrumental in people loving themselves more.
I do live events around the world and I am known for creating a tremendously positive environment for people to grow in and I am told it’s a life-changing experience. People walk out of my events with more confidence in themselves and taking bigger, bolder actions so they get the results they are dreaming of! It
It is a gift to me every time someone else succeeds in their life. I am blessed and humbling to have the opportunity to help so many people achieve their dreams and believe in themselves. I am grateful every day.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Yes! LA is great place for businesses. I love Los Angeles. I have been here over 20 years. The people are so diverse and multi-cultural. There are customers for every business and an incredible variety of businesses. Anything you need you can find in LA. The biggest problems with LA in my opinion are the traffic and it’s very dirty. I feel LA could do so much more to keep our city clean. Hollywood is one of the most important destinations in the world and it is one of the filthiest cities I have ever seen. There is no reason for that. I feel like it should be as glorious as it is known for.
