Today we’d like to introduce you to Wendy Gonzalez.
Wendy, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started in July of 2013, and I was always waking up seeing stars because my sugars were at 400. I actually was not looking forward towards taking any Herbalife, but I was such a bad diabetic. I tried dieting, I tried Nutrisystem and nothing was helping. My doctor’s told me if I don’t change my lifestyle I would not make it to see my 14-year-old son graduate High school. So my friend Lisa would just not stop bugging me about a nutrition program. She would always tell me that Herbalife would help me control my sugars.
Finally, I decided to call her and try this Herbalife. I started my nutrition plan taking two shakes a day for 14 days straight, and my sugars were controlled to 150 every day and bonus I even lost ten pounds with it. I was off and on for about four years, never stopped, just struggled. After suffering with health issues since I was pregnant with my first son, almost losing him when he was born, to having a bad miscarriage, to losing my grandma and having a hard time with my husband in marriage, I suffered bad anxiety and depression.
While on disability in April 2018 to help my depression and anxiety I decided to do the business. I have been consistent with the business since then. I have my clients and a nutrition club to do our business and are able to grow with and for our clients. I am still improving in life and business, but I know if I continue with my trainings and consistency I will do great things.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No, the road has not been smooth at all. My health has been one of my biggest struggles along the way. Having high sugars and trying to wake up and get your day started was a big struggle for me. Not only did I have to deal with my sugars I had to try and get up and force myself to want to get up from and actually brush my teeth and get out. Then get out in the world and try not to stress about what was out of my control.
Being in this business is so positive when speaking to the right person. You have to be strong and not let anything get to you or let your feelings get hurt. This is one of the reasons I had to get help. I dealt with negativity everywhere I looked, my job, my home and just in general.

I am an independent distributor for Herbalife. I specialize in nutrition and change of lifestyle. Herbalife has been around since 1980 by our founder Mark Hughes. It is a company who has been changing lives for over 30 years.
What makes this product great is that it is not only for weight loss or adults. We have products for everyone, we have programs for weight loss, weight gain, weight management, nutrition, and even muscle gain. We have kids, woman, men, grandparents and yes pregnant woman take our products. We also carry skin, body and acne products.
I am so happy and proud to be a part of a company who has helped improved so many lives for the best. We work with people one on one, either it be in person, through Instagram or just even text or talk. Our advertisement is us, our results are our commercials.
We love to connect with each one of our clients and figure out together what we are going to do to get to those results. Herbalife is the only product out there that has a label that says healthy meal, not supplements and we are very proud of that. We have the best doctors, scientists and Nobel prize winners behind our product.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I would like to give so many people credit along the way. But, I would really love to give credit to the one person who has always had my back.
Even when I was stuck and did not know what else to do he was there, my husband, Jose. He took me to my first meeting with Lisa. He helped me the days I could not get out of bed when my sugars were high.
He did not start taking the product when I did, but as soon as he saw all the benefits it did for myself and others, he was right there by my side to see all the good and bad. Now that I have great followers and clients he pushes me to my limit so we can help others in every aspect in life. He attends all of our trainings and just inspires me every day. I love this man.
Also, my mentor, my coach, my sponsor and just my overall friend Basilisa. She saw things in me that I could never see. She never gave up on me even when I gave up on myself. She saw me at my worse and hugged me at my best. I call her my health Angel, but I seriously do not know where I would be without her.
My parents Hermelinda and Andres have was always played a big part in my life. They have and will always support me no matter what. They are my parents, they have to, right? Well, at first they were very skeptical about my future with this product. They were not sure if this was for me.
But, throughout my four years, they saw the health benefits and the personal growth within me. They realized I was not as stressed anymore, I was not always tired, I did everything with such confidence. This just made them even more supportive of what I could do and could eventually accomplish.
