Today we’d like to introduce you to Warren Burley.
Warren, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
It all started in the sound studio back in 1997, I got really interested in doing radio commercials. I worked as an apprentice in a sound studio in Johannesburg in South Africa and slowly worked my way in to the TV and film industry. I eventually owned my own Post production house with 3 sound studios doing TV commercials and post audio for movies. In 2010 we decided we wanted to move over to the USA and started the long process of emmigration.
We finally got our green cards and moved to California in 2014. I knew I would have to start from the bottom again but honestly never knew it would be that hard. We often thought about packing in the Hollywood dream and going home to South Africa, but we persisted and started growing our own Business.
And so Digital Ink Media Solutions was born, we started out with one client that kept us going for the first year and have since grown to 8 solid clients who help our company grow on a daily basis.
We started out just doing Post Audio services and have now grown to a full production and post production house with capabilities to do everything in the commercial and film process from start to finish.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It certainly hasn’t been easy on this journey as we found that the industry works so differently over here and we had to adapt quickly.
It was a process of hard calling and knocking on doors literally to get the work in. It has also been hard to get people to trust us in the start of the process, being a new company and coming from Africa, people are skeptical at first but they soon learn to trust and love us.
We have also had to prove ourselves against some stiff competition with some impressive studios, and when we started we worked out of our home office.

Digital Ink Media Solutions is a production and post production house that specializes in the entire production process from start to finish. What makes us special is the fact that we have experts on hand that specialist in every aspect of the TV and film process.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me is defined by happiness, and a loving family that can share that happiness with you.
Most people define success as having money and power, and don’t get me wrong having money is great, but I think most people chase the dollar all their lives and are never happy. So, I just want to be happy and know that I have contributed to the world in some way, then I would consider myself successful.
