Meet Vincent Rodricks of Andre’s Martial Arts in Burbank

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vincent Rodricks.

Vincent, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My Martial arts career started about 50 plus years ago, in the Middle eastern country of Sultanate of Oman, where I had been working for an International airlines. Met my very first Master in Shotokan Karate, a British national, and so the story began. After achieving my Black belt, I then moved my residence to Houston, Texas, where I met my second master from Korea, and thus began Andre’s Martial Arts, the school was named after my son “Andre”, who has now retired after serving in the US Marine Corps for 20 years, and who is now pursued a different career in Houston, Texas. Many years later I was posted to Riga, Latvia, one of the Baltic States, where I established a school there. After my posting in Riga, ended, I found myself in Burbank, CA, and have now been operating my school here for the past 21years.

I also now have a 20 years old daughter “Megan”. both my kids have obtained black belts in Taekwondo and Hapkido.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has been smooth for me with no significant struggles.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Andre’s Martial Arts – what should we know?
My company (School) Andre’s martial Arts, I am the Grandmaster having now obtained a 9th Degree black belt in Taekwondo and Hapkido. My school, which is now established inside the Burbank Town Center Mall.
