Today we’d like to introduce you to Vincent Manzullo.
Hi Vincent, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am originally from New Jersey and live in Los Angeles.
I am a Musical Artist that creates Hip/Hop music that is multidimensional and lyrically driven.
I have had no previous professional experience in music before releasing my debut project in 2021. I value the platform that creating music provides and the ability to reach others.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One of the biggest obstacles/challenges faced when being a Musical Artist is the lack of vision seen by your peers/family.
It really relies on your own self to see the vision. Sometimes, it’s not necessarily seeing the vision but creating the vision and believing in what you created.
Support can be said to come in many forms, but the biggest form of support is having authentic people believe in your work daily. This has to start with yourself.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Most of my work touches on major flaws in society such as racism and oppression. My work also sheds light on unity while creating new angles for up-and-coming emcees have a reference point. I value the ability of an Artist to tell a story through the elements in a song.
Mind Over Oppressive Decisions (2021): My debut project that was sparked due to social injustice and oppression throughout the world. My single “Look!” can sum up the essence of this project.
2 Realities (2022): My second project building off of my first project. This project outlines how individuals can have different perspectives and shed light on those that may be ignorant/naive to the discrimination of people in the world we live in.
90s Kid (2022): My third project that speaks to why I do what I do. I am just a 90s Kid.
Wasted Talent (2023): My fourth project that talks more about myself as an individual. This project serves as a reminder to always realize that without acting on your beliefs, you will always find yourself wondering.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
I do not have a single mentor. My mentors to me are other Artists that have paved the way. Artists like Chadwick Stokes, Clarence Greenwood, Lauryn Hill, The Lumineers, Bradley Nowell, and Bob Marley come to mind. Shout out to G. Love & Special Sauce for the communication.
Jonas W. Karlsson has also become a point of reference for me, and our friendship has grown throughout my musical journey.
