Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Suzuki.
Victoria, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was a licensed RDA and a pastry chef decorating for special events. I turned my passion for art and attention to details to Japanese nail art. Seeking the latest trends is a daily routine in the ever-evolving culture.
I had traveled nationwide and across countries to expand my knowledge and techniques in the Japanese nail art scene. I specialize in Japanese nail art, gel extensions and character designs at Vixkiss Nails in La Mirada, California. Also, I’m Leafgel premium educator and Swarovski®️ certified Nail artist.
Although nail industry wasn’t my first choice as a career, I am so glad that I made the move. I enjoy seeing all my clients, teaching other technicians as an educator and holding nail art classes via zoom. Nothing is better than doing what you love to do!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
First, when I opened the business, I didn’t really have enough clients. I could barely pay my station rent. But after I tried really hard and kept educating myself with new trend, my business was getting better and better where I had to work 10-12hrs a day!! 🙂
Vixkiss Nails – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I’m specialized in Japanese podded gel, hand painting and stone nail art. I had traveled nationwide and across countries to expand my knowledge and techniques in the Japanese nail art scene. Most of my clients are obsessed with my free-handed painting art, such as characters and line art. The quality of work is unique and also last long time, that’s the reason why even new clients always come back.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Eventually, I would love to make “vixkiss” as a brand where I can also come out with my own line of gel and brushes, etc. I would also love to collaborate with celebrities and influencers, so many people can enjoy to see the new nail art trend!
