Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Jones.
Victoria, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I thought I was meant to possess a career in the financial industry until the day I retired. Although finance interested me + provided me a sense of feeling rewarded for helping others reach their financial goals – I knew that it wasn’t my passion.
My story isn’t the expected story of loving + being skillful in photography at a young age rather, falling in love with photography, captivated by storytelling, compelled by the endless ceiling of learning + exploration, that I experienced once I became a mother.
It quickly became my passion + excited me to create, capture the raw + beautiful daily moments that I was surrounded by + soon thereafter became a career that I wake up every day excited to do.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
In most cases, one would experience obstacles and struggles when establishing their own business but truthfully + thankfully, that hasn’t been the case. I believe that when things are meant to be, they will be. It does not mean I have not experienced lessons along the way — because those I experience every day.
Some of the lessons that I’ve learned have been to make time for yourself + not feeling guilty, prioritize separating yourself/your business from others around you, invest in your growth, + to always lead with exceptional customer service + relationship building.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Victoria Jones Photography story. Tell us more about the business.
My name is Victoria Jones, owner of VJP. I am a Lifestyle Portrait + Wedding photographer. My photography style is known to be candid, unposed, joyful, timeless, romantic, and also light + airy.
I am most proud of developing my “self-taught” skills from a hobby to establishing a business focused on what I like to call — the red carpet service. From the very moment of meeting my client, my goal is to learn about their story, listen to their needs, build a genuine relationship so that they are at ease in front of my camera when it’s session time + to fulfill their storytelling dreams of their pages through my lens.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I live, plan, + dream with intent. I truly believe in working hard to see the outcome you’ve always wanted but also in blessings. I am so incredibly blessed to have the endless support + love for my work by all of my clients, turned friends. The luck I’ve experienced is feeling so lucky that I get to do what I love for a living!
