Today we’d like to introduce you to Victor Togunde.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
For years, I wanted to organically fall into an activity and hobby that I felt it would occupy my time in this crazy city we call Los Angeles. I have introduced to the world of Acro yoga almost 4 years ago and immediately became hooked! I’ve always been active my entire life but I think the key thing that gave me the ability to have the body awareness and strength needed for acro yoga is that I was a cheerleader in high school back in Texas. I was part of the competition squad that had 10 guys and 10 girls. We each were paired off with partners and did a various array of stunts that were collegiate level. That experience really helped me develop rather quickly In the world of Acro yoga and about a year and a half into my practice, I decided that was the time I felt comfortable enough to start teaching others skills and techniques that could help them grow in their practices well.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Fortunately for me, it has definitely been a smooth road. One of the biggest fears obviously is avoiding injury, And while none of us are perfect, I have strived to keep everyone that I have worked with safe and injury free in such a way where they can continue to enjoy acro yoga. The only challenge that I can see right now is spreading the word and awareness about the sport. Right now I feel that Acro yoga Is like skateboarding in the 80s.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Acro Yoga (Private Lessons) – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I teach Acro yoga privately, as well as hold workshops throughout the year at One Down Dog Yoga. People in the Acro yoga world know me as “The Acro Machine” on Instagram (@theacromachine). I think one of the things that set me apart from others is that I have the ability to communicate acro to someone that has never tried it and get them to believe that anything is possible.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My plans for the future is to take my style of acro yoga global. To travel to various countries around the world and teach people how to connect through this wonderful sport.
