Today we’d like to introduce you to Valentyna Sichko. She and her team share her story with us below:
Valentyna is a Singer-Songwriter, and an Actress. She is from Ukraine and is now based in Toronto. She fell in love with singing when she was 14 years old, and began to realize how one can express their feelings through song. Valetnyna has performed in many Singing Competitions in Toronto and has performed in her own Music Video for her new single “Motivators. Valentyna has enjoyed the creative process her song has gone through and is extremely grateful to be working closely with Grammy-nominated record producer & songwriter Roy Hamilton III. She is thrilled to continue to break through any limitations her work may face.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been easy with this journey but you should never give up. I know that everything takes time and I try my best to try new things every day!
During my acting career, I’ve made lots and lots of mistakes, but the biggest mistake that I did and a lot of people do when they start off is being too big. Once I was on set and I was acting too big on camera and when it was a close-up, it looked ridiculous and embarrassing but I laughed it off and learned to really feel and not show. And it’s a hard skill as an actor to get used to but it takes practice.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
When I was at high school, I would do acting first before anything else I did. I was starting to build my career. I would also get bullied a lot so I would skip classes all the time and I would just focus on myself. I had a few friends here and there but I was never in those big high school groups cause nobody liked me for what I did. For them, it’s “How does she get to skip classes and I don’t”. But I would go to school and try to do the homework on the way to work and on my break time at work, or finish it at school, and if I had an audition come up, I would do it after work or try to take a day off. If it’s a really big audition, I would find extra time for it. Try to always find a bit of time for your hobbies but don’t overwhelm yourself too much. That would be my little advice. I work on music, acting and modeling and I always try to stand out and do something that nobody has done before!
What matters most to you? Why?
There’s two things that matter the most to me in this world. The first thing is my family, even though sometimes you can have arguments with your family but they will always be there by your side no matter what. Family is the only people who you can trust. And a lot of people can disagree with me but trust me you realize later on in life that there the only people who have your back. The second thing is important in my life is my health. Money can buy you happiness but it can’t buy you health.
