Meet Troy Padgett of All Valley RV Center

Today we’d like to introduce you to Troy Padgett.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Troy. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I am a second-generation RV Dealer. My father, Roy Padgett, owned Young’s RV Center for 1988 – 2005 before selling it and retiring. He set a great example for me on how to run a business successfully. My partner, Bruce McGovern, and I opened All Valley RV Center in April of 2005 with six trailers on our lot and four employees. Now we are stocking 120 RVs on our lot, recently opened a second location for RV service and rentals, and have a staff of 30 employees. We were able to grow thanks to a strong business plan, a lot of hard work, and the best employees in Southern California.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The economic downturn in 2007-2009 was the biggest obstacle we faced. Financing was difficult and suppliers were going out of business. We sell a big ticket items that people don’t need when times are tough. We had to adjust our business model and learn how to adapt to difficult times. What helped us during the downturn was the people purchasing travel trailers to live in and not just use them for travel.

All Valley RV Center – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We are an RV dealer in SoCal that specializes in new and used towable and motorized RV’s, RV parts, RV service, and RV rentals. Our mission is to get families out enjoying the outdoors together. We believe that is the foundation of what we do; bringing people together. Our family first atmosphere is what sets us apart from many others. Our employees are our family just as much as our customers are.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I define success with our business when we are growing our dealership in size and employee’s but, also if we are keeping our customers happy. We know we can have financial success, but we want it to be defined by our customers stories and their referrals to our business to their family and friends. Getting industry awards is another way I define our success. When our customer’s and peers vote for us in our business category I reaffirms to us that we are on the right track. We have received the Antelope Valley’s Best RV Dealership 8 years in a row, and recently received the RVBusiness North American Top 50 RV Dealership award for 2016.
