Today we’d like to introduce you to Troy Anthony.
Troy, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
As a child, I always had an affinity for better-tailored clothing because of the film industry, I didn’t know what that meant exactly until I moved to LA and found the clothing industry. I started as a sales rep selling ready to wear to better mens stores on the west coast. I then moved into the cloth world and started selling to tailors and cloth stores on the west coast and in the southwest. From there, I was able to visit mills in Biella, Italy and Huddersfield, En along with Savile Row in London. Simultaneously I was able to visit tailor shops in Milan, IT and silk Mills in Como, IT, which allowed me to start to build the relationships I now have in order to be very competitive while offering the best make and cloth for Troy Anthony.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Yes and No, the yes is I’ve been blessed to have met some amazing people who have supported and continue to support the brand. The no is just learning some hard lessons on who to count on and who to partner with, which I think is a natural part of “making your bones” as a business owner.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
We make custom clothing and accessories for men and women all made in Italy complemented with custom footwear made in Spain. We specialize in men’s and women’s clothing mainly suits, tuxedos, and sport coats. I am most proud that we offer a fully made in Italy garment, I would never talk poorly about others who choose to use other countries for their make but I will say nothing beats an Italian made garment. We set ourselves apart in 3 ways, 1. We are fully made in Italy, 2. I am a style expert and I am great at making your vision come alive through my designs, 3. I know that fit is a very important part about a garment, but cloth is the most important part. Choosing the correct cloth for the climate a client will be in but also someone’s body temperature is key.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Knowledge and passion make me who I am and that is passed directly into my brand with every consultation. Being able to help clients understand why I am the best option lives and breathes in this space, anyone can sell a suit but it’s few and far between when it comes to delivery a real experience.
