Meet Trendy Chef of The Trendy Chef Catering in Inland Empire

Today we’d like to introduce you to Trendy Chef.

Trendy, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was raised with a single father that couldn’t cook a boiled egg, growing up it was hot dogs and bologna sandwiches everyday. One day I had enough and worked at a supermarket to save up for a steak at the age of 16. I then realized it was something that I was good at and attended culinary school right after graduating high school. Once attending, I knew nothing about food and studied everyday single day to become the best. I entered a two weeks long competition of 1200 cooks and placed first. Where I am today, I am now the winner of food networks supermarket stakeout with guest judge Bobby flay. I also now own a catering company & a food delivery service. I also started a youth cooking class from ages 5 to 15 years old. I am known for being the chef with crazy food ideas like 24k gold chicken wings and deep-fried water with millions and millions of views.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has been a very bumpy road, from sleeping in my car to work different events. I am also a full-time single father & I also have to be a teacher for my children during covid. It’s not easy but all my worth it at the same time.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about The Trendy Chef Catering – what should we know?
I own The Trendy Chef Catering with nothing but 5 star reviews. We have catered for many celebrities and amazing people. I am known for my crazy chicken wings that no other chef has ever created, such as waffled Battered chicken wings, donut glazed and chicken wings stuffed with red beans and rice. Our creativity is what sets us apart from other companies. I am very proud that we started from cooking at home with very little equipment to opening up a full catering service.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My old boss who believed in me and taught me a lot about the business. My mentor Chef Rush, who has been the chef of the White House for 21 years. Also, my catering team (Team Trendy) I couldn’t not have done it with out them.
