Meet Trailblazer Symone Sade

Today we’d like to introduce you to Symone Sade.

Symone, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’m a wardrobe stylist based out of Los Angeles and New York. I’m born and raised in Los Angeles so I’m from the land of culture and inspiration so it’s only right that I share that with the world! I knew since like the age of 8 that I was supposed to be in Fashion. I use to organize my clothes as a kid based on the information that was provided on the care tags. What child is doing that on their own? One who is already working on their purpose! I started by dressing myself and giving advice to friends and then one day I just dropped everything and went for it. I landed a huge opportunity styling singer Lexy Panterra, from there, I assisted for the Migos, and I’m currently working with TDE artist Reason and a few others I can’t name yet. I have a long way to go and I’m just getting started but what’s helping me push forward is my drive and knowing that I’m made for this. No matter how many times things fall through, or mistakes I make, I keep going. I love it so much. Fashion… well, styling for me is therapeutic. I love making people feel good. It’s my way of giving back.

Has it been a smooth road?
I think people think if they know how to dress themselves, then they can be a stylist, but it’s not that simple. It’s a lot of research and knowledge you have to gain and learn through experience. Most people assist another stylist for quite some time but to be honest, I’m not the best assistant. I tried. I failed, and I tried again. Until I sat back one day and brainstormed on how I could open these doors for myself. So, that’s what I’m doing now. Working on new things, taking my time to perfect my craft and knocking down doors that are probably scared to let me in.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I’m a wardrobe stylist. I create a vibe for people, make them feel good and stylish. I think I’m most proud of not giving up. It’s a hard business to get into, but I love what I do so much I just can’t give up. That’s why I keep pushing and I hope that one day I’m able to share more of my struggles and inspire someone to walk in their purpose and go after what they love.

What’s the most important piece of advice you could give to a young woman just starting her career?
Always stay gracious. Be a lady, and make it known that you’re about your business! Although it’s fashion, it’s still a male dominant field and sometimes that can be very intimidating. You have to learn how to stay true to yourself and be aggressive at the same time or an opportunity can fall through your hands quickly. Lastly, no slacking and remember to always control what you can and know that there is a solution to everything.
