Meet Trailblazer Rosie Delgado Burciaga

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rosie Delgado Burciaga.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Rosie. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
At the young age of 14, while living in my hometown Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico I discovered my passion. I began to style my family members, close friends and neighbors hair and makeup. At 19, I arrived in the United States, San Diego and worked any job that would give me income, but kept styling on the side because that was what I truly loved to do. I got tired of working the jobs that didn’t interest me and decided to join a cosmetology school to receive my license and start professionally working in the beauty industry. After graduating, I worked in a beauty salon for one year where I was able to grow my clientele. I then was given the opportunity to open my very own place, where we were always packed for make-up services. That same clientele that was coming in for make-up began to come in to ask for classes so they could learn and do the same, this was what motivated me to look into opening a make-up school. The classes I was teaching were successful, and I was using a well known cosmetic brand to give them. The brand was giving me a discount for being a cosmetologist, and all of a sudden took the discount away with no reason, which made it harder to keep buying the product. Faced with this, I came to the idea of creating my own cosmetic line, and that’s how Karoli was founded. I eventually sold the beauty salon and focused on the makeup school and developing and perfecting its study curriculum as well as growing the cosmetic line. We’re now expanding schools into other parts of California, hope to soon start expanding into other parts of the country as well as Mexico. Mexico already has its first school located in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There is an old saying, that states “si lo quieres, lo puedes” which means “if you want it, you can have it” but, the saying doesn’t state that it’s going to be easy. In such a long path, there have been many struggles, sleepless nights, failures, and negative numbers in my bank account. But, every obstacle that I have faced, and mistake that I have made has helped shape me and helped me shape my business, and I came to realize that every little or big sacrifice that I have made has been worth it. To anyone that is just starting, there is no secret to success, Believe in yourself, in your dreams and work hard to achieve them. We have to learn from our mistakes and use any obstacle that is thrown our way as a learning lesson to help us grow. When you’re doing something you love and are passionate about, you will have results in the end. It’s not going to be easy, because nothing worth having is. But never give up.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Karoli Professional Beauty – what should we know?
Karoli Professional Beauty is a well-rounded business, specializing in two major outputs; cosmetic line and courses. I began as an instructor myself, but have now progressed to creating cosmetics for my line, and the expansion of the network of schools.

Our schools offer makeup, up-do, eyelash extension, and threading courses, as well as the ability to purchase Karoli Cosmetics.

Karoli helps women look and feel beautiful. It’s amazing to know that I have been able to grow a brand dedicated to that. The brand has helped me keep doing what I love and reach many more women than I could have ever imagined, not just to look and feel beautiful but to help them achieve there own dreams in the beauty industry. More and more people every day learn that karoli means beauty. I believe that karoli is not like every other brand because we offer quality in our products, they are created with people in mind, we wanted to give every one product they could trust. We also offer quality in our courses; the curriculum was developed to allow students to reach proficiency and begin the journey of their professional career in the beauty industry.

Which women have inspired you in your life?
I can say that my biggest inspiration is my two daughters. Everything I have done and am doing it for them, they support me and keep me going.
