Meet Trailblazer Naomi Wild

Today we’d like to introduce you to Naomi Wild.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’m from LA and went to school in Santa Barbara. I went to an art school in Northridge for most of my life but spent my last two years at Beverly Hills High School where I graduated. I started writing music in college for fun and had a song (Tim Legend – Hope) do well which gave me the push to drop out of school and pursue music. A few years and some bartending later, I wrote Higher Ground for ODESZA and have been touring with them since 2016. I’m now beginning to roll out my solo artist project and just released my most recent single, “LA LA LAND.”

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It’s been an insane few years with some high highs and low lows. I’ve been incredibly blessed to get the opportunity to tour with ODESZA. I’ve learned so much and met so many incredible and talented people. I didn’t know who I was as a performer before doing this tour- and now, I feel like I do so I’m really excited to get to apply everything I’ve learned and gone really hard.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I’m an artist and would say I specialize in lyricism. I’m most known for my feature on ODESZA’s most recent album, “A Moment Apart” where I wrote and performed on “Higher Ground.” I’m most proud of my diversity when it comes to songwriting – as I love to write and deliver in different styles. I like being unpredictable.

I would say my favorite podcast is “And The Writer Is.”
