Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Crean.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started blogging during the summer before my sophomore year of college and I just wanted to showcase my everyday outfits and not turn it into anything serious. I only posted on my blog and didn’t really try with any social media. Eventually, I started an Instagram and it grew fairly quickly. I moved to Los Angeles in July and my blog had to be put on hold while I was starting a job and becoming an “adult”. However, in recent months, I’ve really made an effort to grow my blog even more and work as hard as possible on it. I love doing photoshoots in all of the amazing places LA has to offer!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It’s been a difficult road. Blogging isn’t as easy as it looks and neither is Instagram. It’s a lot of work planning the perfect pictures, ideas for posts, prepping for photo shoots, reaching out to companies, etc. Most bloggers make it their full-time job and have interns or assistants, however, I have more jobs on top of this and it’s difficult to find solid time to work on my own blog. You just have to stick with it and make it work. Post good content and be consistent. Find your niche and who you are and what makes you different, that’s key.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Posh Prime – what should we know?
My main focus is fashion and style. I love sharing my outfits, favorite pieces, etc. I also like adding some of my favorite pieces to my Instagram Stories and make it easy for people to shop. You want others to learn something from you and you want to give others something. You have to make it easy for them to follow you, see your content, shop your looks. I’m most proud that I”m balancing my blog on top of my job. I am an editorial assistant for two lifestyle bloggers, as well as a social media intern for an LA hairstylist. I’m always working and it’s a 24/7 job but it’s something I love and enjoy so that’s worth it!
