Meet Trailblazer Lisa Gomez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Gomez.

Lisa, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My passion for fitness began at Cabrini College as an undergraduate student. After receiving my B.S in Exercise Science and Health Promotion with a concentration in Sports Science, I decided to continue my career as a personal trainer and group exercise instructor. Throughout my years in this field, I’ve had the opportunity to work one-on-one and in a group setting with many different special populations. I grew to love what I do because I know and understand the benefits of exercise and healthy living. It brings me joy to know I can educate someone and also get them excited about choosing to live a healthier lifestyle.

I am currently based in Downtown Los Angeles where I decided to provide my services on an independent scale. I train out of two private fitness studios called Metcon Method and DTLA Fitness. SoLi Inspired stemmed from the idea of being able to connect and inspire other creatives. In the fitness world, people would identify my creative workouts as “That’s So Lisa!”

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The competition can be fierce being a young woman moving from one big city to another big city. The things I’ve learned along this journey is to never give up but instead stay focus. Always stay consistent in promoting yourself as the best thing and take advantage of any networking opportunities.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Soli Inspired – what should we know?
My training style is more on a functional level. I help people improve their exercise form, cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, core strength, total body conditioning, and flexibility. My services include virtual one-on-one training. I teach a variety of classes at Metcon Method such as TRX Circuit, Booty-Con, Ab-Con, and Met-Con. I will also have free classes that I will be teaching on Saturdays and Sundays in the next few weeks at different pop-up locations in the Los Angeles area.

What I am most proud of as a brand is that I am in control of my destiny with the opportunity to connect with others and grow. What sets me apart is my versatility which allows me to adjust to anyone’s fitness needs while being beneficial.

Finding a mentor and building a network are often cited in studies as a major factor impacting one’s success. Do you have any advice or lessons to share regarding finding a mentor or networking in general?
What helps me is not being afraid of talking to people while networking and staying active on social media. My advice is to stay confident in what you do and know exactly what you want.
