Meet Trailblazer Linet K

Today we’d like to introduce you to Linet K.

Los Angeles Native, Celebrity Hair Stylist Linet K., is favored for her highly customized and perfectly achieved work. An 18-year veteran, her artistic range in skills include Hair Color, Hair Styling, Cuts and Hair Extensions. She started doing hair in her home town of Burbank, CA and quickly expanded her business freelancing all over Los Angeles. She is currently taking clients in her home base of Beverly Hills but she is also bicoastal traveling to New York and San Francisco for her clientele.

Has it been a smooth road?
The hair and beauty industry can be a catty one and Linet received some “hater” backlash while working as a young talent. There were mean comments said and one time her car was all scratched up while parked at one of her first salons. But Linet kept smiling and pushing back with kindness! She spent long hours at the salon without any assistance leaving her body soar and exhausted all the time. Linet now works with three assistants at a time and gladly gives new hair stylists advice and shadowing opportunities to learn from her. “I’m not going to be like that old mean generation of ‘let’s haze these new hair stylists.’ I rather give them opportunities to learn and become better,” she graciously says.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
Linet specializes in all types of hair color and is well known for her artistry in sun-kissed balayage and natural hair color. Her focus is always on enhancing the natural beauty of her clients. Giving the best balayage In Los Angeles, her creativity and attention to detail make Linet stand out in the competitive world of colorists. Her versatility and skills in color, styling, and cuts have made her a favorite in the industry among the country’s top modeling agencies to red carpets.

We’re interested to hear your thoughts on female leadership – in particular, what do you feel are the biggest barriers or obstacles?
Running a hairdressing beauty business is a 24-hour job between juggling bookings, meeting with editors and bloggers and doing the actual job! There is barely any time for self-care or socializing outside of work so it can definitely wear a girl out. Self-care and time outside of work are important. Sometimes, you just have to put the phone down and delay the responses to the emails, texts, and DMs… the clients will still be there in a few hours after you have had something to eat and rested your feet!
