Today we’d like to introduce you to Josselyn Partida.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
When I turned 24, I knew I needed to make a drastic change in my life in order to truly feel fulfilled. I stopped making excuses and began making very calculated choices with what I was doing. I began reading the books I’ve always wanted to read, working out towards the body I’ve always wanted and worked hard at figuring out what it was I truly wanted to do. I knew I wanted to stay in the marketing field since I loved to sell and felt very passionate about the emotions that play a role in selling. After all, it’s human emotions that create relationships. As a Regional Marketing Representative, I was very savvy in the social media world and knew that would be my next career move. I took it upon myself to find my first client and my second and my third. In the midst of juggling clients, I gracefully gave my advanced notice to my current employer at the time and worked really hard from then on. I’m about a year in working with various clients, out of various co-working spaces and enjoying every second of the ride.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Nothing worth having is ever easy and my journey is no exception. I’ve faced every single struggle you can think of but the passion I have for my work is greater than any struggle. I would advise everybody to know your worth and remain authentic to yourself.
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I specialize in helping small businesses have an engaging and active social media presence. From creating the content to creating the perfect caption and everything in between. It’s all about connecting with the perfect audience for that client. I am most proud of my social media consulting work because it empowers business owners with the proper tools needed to have a successful social media presence. It’s my gift to them.
Finding a mentor and building a network are often cited in studies as a major factor impacting one’s success. Do you have any advice or lessons to share regarding finding a mentor or networking in general?
I would recommend going to as many networking events as possible. You’ll not only network but also be around like-minded people.
