Meet Trailblazer Jen Esquer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jen Esquer.

Jen, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve always loved movement. I grew up a gymnast for 9 years and after I left the sport, I continued to explore movement through teaching pilates, competing in Calisthenics and dabbling in AcroYoga. I went to college for Kinesiology and soon after, got my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Loma Linda University.

I immediately went to work at a private sports clinic in Santa Monica, California. As my social media continued to grow, I felt that I was holding myself back from amazing opportunities to collaborate with brands/companies, and treat patients privately. I left the clinic after a year and a half with a leap of faith and a lot of determination to do something bigger.

My own private practice quickly started to grow and business was great. Yet, I still felt like I wasn’t reaching the masses and helping the most amount of people I wanted to by just working one-on-one. So, I decided to create an online program. I sought out with very little knowledge about online marketing, and created The Mobility Method. To this day, the program has been out for about 8 months and almost 5 thousand people have gone into the program to learn more about their bodies and free their restrictions! Today, I still work 1 day/week in person with clients and spend the rest of my days creating content, perfecting my program and collaborating with other businesses or getting into press to continue pushing my product to the masses.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As long as I am focused on my “WHY” and connecting the value of what I have to offer back to people, the road has been relatively smooth. I never set out to do something for the idea of money. I have only created and worked with people for the hunger of providing value and helping others heal.

Now, learning online marketing has been a huge beast to take on. The more I continue to want to give and create, the more work I take on learning. During the week of my launch, I got about 4 hours of sleep every night. There were weeks where I cried 1 day/week on average out of overwhelm and panic about getting everything done. Learning how to do anything is like learning a new language. It takes a lot of work to really dive in and figure it out. Remember, you are NOT alone on the journey. The best thing I did through this all was ask for support. I reached out to my network (some where people I hardly knew!) and asked for support in learning. We cannot do anything alone. Be a good student, take notes, and dive in and learn! The greatest value you can provide someone who provides you with help is showing up and working hard to give your all toward the end goal.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about DocJenFit – what should we know?
I am so proud to have grown a social media through education and providing knowledge. I pride myself on the fact that I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy and people come to my page mostly to learn about their bodies. Through my online products, I give people the tools to learn about their own bodies through self-assessment to relieve pain, prevent injuries and optimize movement without even having to see me!

Which women have inspired you in your life?
My grandmother, my mother and my sister are the greatest inspirations in my life. They are all extremely hard-working and focus outward to take care of others. My grandmother was the most charismatic person with a personality that automatically drew people in. She was a born leader and I look up to the way she affected so many people throughout her life. My mother and sister are huge inspirations for how they can take care of everyone around them, work and still make time to put their health high on the priority list and workout. They never take their bodies for granted and through their hard work, they naturally have shown their children that working out is not a chore, but a way of life.
