Meet Tracy Lefebvre of Ritual & Rose in Just outside

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tracy Lefebvre.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Tracy. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
Ritual & Rose began when I discovered a box of my mother’s belongings; it contained photographs, jewelry, and other little keepsakes that she had collected throughout the years.

It also included the most beautiful ceramic pipe I’d ever seen. The piece was simple, timeless and unlike anything that could be found in stores today. It made me see that there was a huge gap in the cannabis market and that women, who make up a large portion of the community, were vastly underrepresented.

I wanted to fill that gap by creating a line of products designed specifically for women; one that meets the needs of the modern female cannabis consumer and that reflects their feminine tastes but also pays homage to the classic designs of the sixties, and to the women who began the fight against the stigma of cannabis use.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As a woman, it can be difficult to be taken seriously in any male-dominated field, but I’ve been lucky enough to connect with a lot of other female start-ups in the cannabis industry, and I think our collaborations have really helped us get our footing. Together, our voices are being heard and respected which helps combat some of the inequalities.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Ritual & Rose – what should we know?
The first piece in our vintage-inspired line is our Yellow Rose Pipe. This piece was created for women, by women. It is meant not only to please the eye, but also to meet the needs of the growing number of women who make up the cannabis community, and who was, up until recently, largely unrepresented in the cannabis consumer market.

Each handcrafted pipe is ethically made in the USA, using only non-toxic, organic materials. Since each piece is handmade, every pipe has an individual, and one-of-a-kind feel to it. Also, what truly sets our pipes apart from others are their antique-inspired floral designs and their uniquely rounded shape which make them the perfect mix of contemporary style and classic design.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Integrity. We think it’s important for brands to be honest with consumers about how and where their products are made and to support small, local and diverse companies. Each of our pipes are handmade at Mudshark Studios in Portland, Oregon where we can ensure the quality of each item and guarantee that each piece is produced ethically and with only non-toxic and organic materials while also contributing to one of the many small businesses that have helped grow the cannabis industry into the community it has become today.
