Today we’d like to introduce you to Tracy Christian.
Tracy, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I got my start in the business thanks to my friends Joe Doughrity and John Singleton. Long story short, I asked them what they thought I’d be good at and they recommended I become an agent. I didn’t really have connections in the business so I got an internship first. That lead to a position as an assistant and eventually I was promoted to an agent.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Ha!!!! Life comes after everyone. Not smooth sailing at all BUT my today is always better than my yesterday.
2006 – 2008 the US was in the midst of a serious recession. In addition, the entertainment industry was going through a writer’s strike and a de facto actor’s strike. While many of my colleagues watched the tumult erode their income, I was able to pivot into unscripted. Today I still represent some of the most talented actors around in addition to producers and production companies.
