Today we’d like to introduce you to Toyin Kuyoro.
Toyin, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
From my experience of being in the medical field for over 20 years, I have worked with a vary of patients who suffer from diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. This gave me the idea to start a health clinic in the South LA/Leimert Park Area. I wanted to open up this clinic because I wanted to help people achieve their goal in weight control, as well to help them maintain a healthier lifestyle. It has definitely been a long journey in opening up my clinic. Initially, it was going to be solely a family medical practice, but I thought to myself why not expand it to other services that help advocate for wellness in the South LA community that most people do not have resources to. Sure, there are health clinics in the area, but we are different because we focus more on one-on-one coaching that involves diet nutrition, meal prepping, and wellness promotion. I’m glad to be where I am today.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There has been some struggles along the path into opening this clinic. There were many financial struggles. One of them was trying to find a permanent location for my clinic. One other struggle was finding ways how to advertise a brand new business. With not much background in advertising, you can imagine how hard it would be. Initially, I wanted to open up this clinic in Pomona, but something about opening up my clinic in the South LA area seemed rewarding.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Zinnia Health and Wellness Medical Center story. Tell us more about the business.
We specialize in weight management, diet control, IV Nutritional Therapy, Laser Lipolysis, Radio Frequency for Skin Tightening, Fat Burners, and Ultrasound Cavitation. I am most proud of our success and our client’s satisfaction. So far, we have had three successful stories and we only hope to increase that more along the way. Everyone that comes to Zinnia Health and Wellness Medical Center end up leaving extremely happy. As stated earlier, our customers are like family to us so they feel comfortable with us. What sets us apart is that we treat them with ultimate satisfaction and are with them every step of the way once they have signed up with us.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I’ve met great people along the way in opening this business. God has placed amazing people to help me. Along this journey, I’ve met a doctor and his son who has helped me open this business, and they are still helping me today. In my personal life, with all the education and coming from Nigeria, it has God who has granted me with good luck. If I wouldn’t have my education, I would not have been able to succeed the way I have.
