Meet Tony Valenziano of Pacifique Recording Studios in North Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tony Valenziano.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Was in a popular power pop band back in the 80’s and started producing our records… Got very involved with the production and producing and engineering kept going with that. Started a record company back in the early 90’s and realized if you want to produce in this town own the label, even better own the studio where you make your product you signed. Had a family own studio New Orleans since 1991 but Katrina wiped that out so I started to look back in Los Angeles for a place to work. Found a place on Sunset that is a very famous and historical studio, but at the last moment the deal went south and kept looking for years for the right fit and right people….Had been dealing with a few studios on what we call “Studio Row” here on Magnolia Boulevard in North Hollywood, bought a place, made it what we wanted it to be and have been working in it ever since.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I can’t recall anything being “smooth” especially in this biz…usually if it is, it ain’t real or worth it (mostly if its to good to be true, it isn’t)..even the deal with buying this studio took over 9 months and there were a hundred different hoops and curveballs to get through, but those “challenges” are what make you strong, get through it and when you come out on the other end, you are so well prepared for anything that may go in bizarre directions, you don’t panic or make impulsive decisions…you know you have a period of time to work through it and make direct strategic and mainly the best decisions possible…again, if its real, its worth it..

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Pacifique Recording Studios – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We are recording studio… One of the more top-of-the-line studios in town we cater to a very high-end clientele which to separate us from a lot of other studios which were thankful for… But what we have in here as far as gear and vibe are what sets us apart, that’s what makes this place we’ve created special.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We’re looking to expand of the business here and build some more post-production mastering suites so we can be a one-stop-shop place to do your projects and creative outlets. I think it’ll take a year or so but were working on it as we speak hopefully that will be our goal to complete within that timeframe.
