Thanks for sharing your story with us Tisha. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Prior to working with spaces, I was a practicing attorney for over 10 years, in addition to clerking for two federal judges. Even though I had a successful career, I craved to do something more creative. I felt out of alignment with my life, which was beginning to take a toll on my health. Yoga became my refuge.
I began to have a series or premonitory dreams that led me to pursue a Fine Arts Degree in Interior Design. From there, I tapped into my creativity and began to understand the subtle realms of energy in the body and home and their interrelationship to one another. This became the impetus to my book, MIND BODY HOME.
I purchased a home that needed a complete renovation. As the process was underway, I began to notice the same renovations were taking place in my mind and body. I experienced how our energy and our home’s energy is one in the same and began to study these areas formally by obtaining certifications in Yoga, Reconnective Healing, and Feng Shui. In 2008, I started my first business servicing clients with yoga, energy healing, Feng Shui, and space clearing.
As a Feng Shui expert, interior designer, and energy healer, I combine traditional Feng Shui techniques, design aesthetics, and intuition to turn challenging spaces into supportive environments to help improve the lives of all those who live and encounter the space.
I work with homes, businesses, corporations, land builders, and non-profit organizations to help improve spaces by using Feng Shui, space clearing, interior design, interior decorating, clutter clearing, five element analyses, and land healing. In 2011, I started the Earth Home School of Feng Shui to teach others to become certified Feng Shui practitioners. Earth Home also carries products through its online store, with its flagship product being The Original Smudge Spray®.
Throughout my experience and work with spaces, I have authored Decorating With the Five Elements of Feng Shui (Llewellyn 2015), Mind Body Home: Transform Your Life One Room at a Time (Llewellyn 2012), and Feng Shui Your Life: The Quick Guide to Decluttering Your Home and Renewing Your Life (Turner Publishing 2010).
I am excited about my next book – Clutter Intervention: How Your Stuff is Keeping You Stuck – that releases February 2018.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Doubt. Doubt can kill dreams or at least temporarily detour them. Because I followed an unorthodox path, I had many times when I thought I was crazy. And yet, the secret to building a successful business is doing what’s not been done before.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Earth Home – what should we know?
I am a space whisperer. As a Feng Shui expert, interior designer, and energy healer, I combine traditional Feng Shui techniques, design aesthetics, and intuition to turn challenging spaces into supportive environments to help improve the lives of all those who live and encounter the space.
I look at spaces as having a soul and, just like us, they too have a past often with skeletons in their closet. Add to this, the occupants have their own myriad of energy being emitted in a space. The combination creates patterns in a space that can keep occupants stuck in repeating unwanted thoughts and behaviors. Clutter adds to the density of the energy in a home too and keeps energy stuck.
I specialize in lifting the energy and getting clients unstuck in their home and their life.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
My goal is to empower clients. Many Feng Shui traditions are steeped in fear which just adds to the underlying problem. I want to leave a client’s home with them feeling uplifted and motivated to make changes with ease and grace. There is a vulnerability about having someone in your home – I see it as an honor to be invited into someone’s home where they allow me into their inner world. It is a space in which I enter with unconditional love and no judgment.
