Today we’d like to introduce you to Timothy Culver.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
As a 23-year-old recent college graduate from Brown University, I moved to San Diego from Ohio to open CulverCareers July 1st 1979. We now have locations in Orange, L.A., San Francisco, Sacramento, San Diego, Whitefish Montana. We have remote recruiters throughout the U.S.
We are recognized as one of the Top Recruiting Firms in the country and have a long history of success.
We are ranked as Top 1% or recruiting firms in North America by Innavero Research and listed by Forbes as one of the Best Recruiting Firms in the U.S.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
We have experienced setbacks.
The most severe are times of extreme national disruptions such as after Sept 11, 2001 and the Great Recession of 2008-2010. These events cause such a fear in growth, expansion and hiring that they affect everything we do.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the CulverCareers story. Tell us more about the business.
We are an executive search firm covering North America, Great Britain and Europe.
Our specialties are sales, marketing, manufacturing, technical and medical careers.
We partner with clients in a dynamic state of flux. Typically, they are building out teams because a new product or service is being introduced to the market. Most of our clients are growing rapidly and something very impactful and exciting is happening.
Many of our clients are house hold names but when we started with them, they were small regional firms.
Our specialties are BDR’s, Enterprise, Account Managers, V.P. of Sales, V.P. of Marketing, CMO, Plant Supervisors, General Manager, Engineers, Developers. Salaries range from $70,000 to $450,000.00 with earnings opportunities sometimes reaching seven figures.
What sets us apart is our integrity, transparency, our talented experienced staff of recruiters and our hard work. We are very good at what we do.

We have 35 full time recruiters. We never hire experienced recruiters so all our employees are internally trained. We are fortunate to have such a talented team. We have 14 employees who have been with our firm for over a decade. Our culture is vibrant, alive, close and very much a family.
