Meet Tim Hurley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tim Hurley.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I fell into music when I was “discovered” singing karaoke at a bar a few hundred yards from my house in Playa del Rey. Two months later, I took the stage with a band for the very first time in my life, opening for country legend John Michael Montgomery in front of thousands of people at the Fort Bliss Army base in El Paso, TX. Needless to say, I caught the bug and decided I had to pursue a career in Country Music. In August of 2016, I became a “solo” act and have been gaining momentum ever since.

Please tell us about your art.
I write songs that I can relate to personally, so a lot of inspiration comes from the beach community that I live in. Naturally, our more meaningful songs are about life experiences, family, goals, relationships and making the most of our short lives. My goal is to connect with my audience on a personal level, which I think is the case for most artists. While we spend a lot of time creating music and working inside a studio, live performances are what I am most passionate about and certainly find the audience response in a real-time atmosphere is most rewarding to me.

As an artist, how do you define success and what quality or characteristic do you feel is essential to success as an artist?
I find it so interesting in country music especially that the charts, award shows, and song sales are becoming the primary topic of conversation and promotion for artists. Naturally, one could argue that all of those things are a reflection of success and how popular your music is with the general public. For me, longevity is far more important than having a hit song that might be relevant for a year. I try to write songs that are timeless and could be appreciated forever. That doesn’t always help with immediate success of a song, because it won’t necessarily fit a current trending model or trend, but hopefully, in staying true to our vision, our music will be relevant for a long time to come.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
Of course, we have songs on iTunes, Spotify, YouTube, and all the other common outlets. But ideally, our fans will come to see a show to experience what we are all about. You can find our tour schedule on timhurleymusic.com and all the social media outlets.
