Meet Tifini Hartman of Beauty By Tifini Skin + Brow Bar in Huntington Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tifini Hartman.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Tifini. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have had a passion for all things beauty as long as I can remember, but my journey in the industry began when I was 17 and started working as a receptionist at a hair salon. No one was shocked that I was hired as they knew my love of makeup – to say I was obsessed was an understatement. The salon life came natural to me and soon after starting, I also became their makeup artist. Over time my love for beauty and skincare evolved and I quickly learned that the base to great makeup is great skin. It was then I decided to go to esthetician school and while there, I felt like everything finally clicked! With my love of make-up in the forefront of my mind, I was shocked to discover how much I was actually into shaping brows and skin health! From that point forward, I knew I was going to dedicate my craft to offering the best skincare and brow services I possibly could.

After I graduated, I worked at a spa for a year, switched spas, was loyal to another terrible boss for five years, built a clientele, left to rent my own room thinking that would make me my own boss finally… boy was I wrong! I was done being bullied, pushed around and was so over my super uncomfortable work environment. All of that is what finally gave me the push I needed to open my own shop and truly be my own boss. I have never stopped taking classes and learning the newest techniques, I love that this industry is constantly evolving! I took on microblading and permanent makeup about five years ago, trained with the best of the best and have made some amazing connections along the way! I have now been an esthetician for over ten years, have had my hidden gem of a studio for four years and honestly couldn’t be happier!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I don’t think anything that is worth something comes easy. There are always going to be struggles with anything you pursue and I definitely had my fair share! When I had just started after graduating, my new boss made me cry almost every other day, I was always in trouble for something, it was ridiculous. Looking back, I think I was young and successful right out of the gate and maybe that made her mad? Not sure but it taught me to stand up for myself and always go with my gut! I have overcome many adversities but I honestly think that’s what molds the person you grow into with your business.

Beauty By Tifini Skin + Brow Bar – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?

Known for brows + vi peel before and afters

I’m obsessed with clean lines + angles and pay meticulous attention to detail!

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I would say the proudest moment was taking the leap to open up my own studio. No business loans, no help from parents- or anyone for that matter. But you know what the craziest part about taking these leaps that feel so scary in the moment is? Looking back thinking, “Man, why did it take me so long to do that?” I honestly feel like I took off once I was able to curate all aspects of my business. I have created the perfect mix of modern relaxation meets boho jungle vibes. My little slice of heaven is a mini getaway for me and my clients whether you’re there for 20 minutes or 2 hours you leave feeling like a better version of yourself!
