Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Davis.
Tiffany, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My mom started a concert production company when I was very young, so I grew up backstage. I never thought I would take a similar path, but after college, I realized I really loved the thrill of producing concerts and live events. I moved to Los Angeles from Texas and worked for the Academy of Country Music Awards for several years, creating many events surrounding the annual televised awards show. I then moved to Nashville for a few years where I ran the International Entertainment Buyers Association, producing an annual four-day conference for talent agents and talent buyers to come together to watch over 50 musical artist showcases.
After leaving Nashville for the East coast, I decided to work for myself consulting and creating fundraising events for nonprofits. Throughout my career to this point, I mentored young music industry professionals and independent artists and continue to do so daily.
In 2018, I created Quay Entertainment, Inc. in partnership with my mom, Nancy. We had worked very well together many times over the years, and we were both looking to expand on our talents and delve into areas that interested us across many entertainment platforms. We enjoy working on a variety of entertainment-related projects from intimate private events to large-scale festivals. We also work with artists in a variety of ways, always advocating for their career growth.
Missing Los Angeles for the ten years I was away and longing to make it home again, I moved back to Beverly Hills. I am currently very active in the business community, civic groups and government committees.
I am excited to be launching a new online interview series in 2023 featuring influential Los Angeles area leaders, which I host and co-produce.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not always been smooth. What I’ve learned is that making long-term career plans is almost pointless. It’s good to have goals and work toward them, but inevitably, challenges will arise or unexpected opportunities will present themself, and your path will redirect.
The biggest struggle when I was working for others was the office dynamics that distract and waste time. I am very much a problem solver and over-achiever, but that isn’t the case with all colleagues, so I found that to be the most frustrating.
I always knew I wanted to work for myself. Once I branched out on my own, I found the biggest challenge to be securing good people to assist and fill positions whose work ethic matched mine. You end up doing a lot of things yourself when you work for yourself, and while it can be a struggle, it is also a huge opportunity to learn new skills and push outside of your comfort zone.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Yes, I have a ton of advice! I’ve been mentoring young professionals and independent artists for almost 20 years. My advice is always the same… SHOW UP! Show up to everything you can possibly attend in the industry you want to work in, and don’t just attend as a wallflower, I actually advise you to volunteer to help work at industry events such as conferences and galas so you can meet the people behind the scenes. Those are the people who will witness first-hand your work ethic and talent, and they will happily open doors for you, whether that be to job opportunities or other professionals who can mentor you.
You should have several mentors. I have had at least 20 over the years, and they each offer something different but equally valuable. I’ve found most people like to mentor, so don’t be afraid to ask an “important” person for a little bit of their time so you can learn more about them. They will also be the ones to introduce you to your next mentor, and you will start to build your network very organically with quality people.
I still find value every time I show up to something, and I’ve learned that you never know where the next opportunity with appear!
