Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Iaccarino.
Sarah, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’ve always enjoyed connecting with people. Since I was a small child, I have loved building relationships with others, listening, connecting in meaningful ways, and peacemaking. I was not sure what I wanted my career path to look like when I began college. I majored in Interpersonal Communication, knowing that having strong communication skills would help me in any career field.
After I graduated, I worked as a receptionist and then an office coordinator at a production studio for about a year. I realized I really needed to do some soul searching. It was not the best environment for me, and I found myself feeling very unfulfilled. I decided to apply to graduate school to study marriage and family therapy.
Prior to starting my private practice this year, I worked at a community center in Orange County. I had the privilege of doing therapy with many different types of people and gained great experience as a therapist. I am passionate about the human experience, and I currently see my mission as empowering others to explore their identity to discover their authentic selves and be able to step into their truth. And I am on this journey of life myself. I’m not a therapist who thinks she has all the answers, or who’s going to give clients my opinions as fact, or who will tell a client exactly what they should do. I see my role as a partner here to collaborate with my clients and assist them in uncovering all the layers that make them who they are!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road leading me to where I am today was definitely not always smooth. There have been high highs and low lows. In my 3.5-year graduate program, I worked almost full time and commuted 50+ miles to and from school up to four days per week. That season of life left me feeling like I was drowning a lot of the time.
However, starting my private practice has felt so natural. I have an amazing mentor who has helped me along the way, who has guided me and given me so much confidence. I have truly enjoyed building my practice and I just love the work that I get to do. Getting here was difficult at times, but so worth it.

Therapy with Sarah is my private practice in West Hollywood. Therapy can be a calming and productive place to move through the overwhelm in life, revitalize strengths, and lay groundwork for your next, purposeful steps in life. These deliberate conversations are collaborative, judgment-free, and creative.
My clients consist of mostly women in their 20’s and 30’s, but all people are welcome! I specialize in working with millennials who want to explore things like self-esteem, identity, relationships, self-healing and empowerment. I also work with both straight and LGBTQ+ couples who are in seasons of transition, or who want to improve their communication and connection with one another.
Every therapist is different, and finding the right therapist for you is vitally important to the success of your therapeutic experience. My style is very client-led, meaning I do my best to get on my client’s wavelength. I tune into where they are at in each session and create space for them to set the pace in therapy based on their comfort level and readiness.
I love the work I get to do, and genuinely have cared for each and every one of my clients. Having the privilege of connecting with people and walking alongside them through life’s challenges is something I am so grateful for.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
One of the most important things to me is to be judgment-free with my clients. I work hard to create a safe space for clients to explore deeply personal, vulnerable, and sometimes scary feelings and thoughts. It’s essential that my clients can feel that I am not going to judge them or reject them. My goal is to always be warm, open, and caring with all of my clients.
I also genuinely want to help every person who contacts me. My goal is to help each client find the best therapeutic fit for them. Sometimes that means they work with me, and other times it means I help them find someone they connect with better. I want all clients to get the best care possible.
