Meet Tha Chill of Comptons Most Wanted / Boomdocz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tha Chill.

Tha, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Well, I come from a group from the late 80s called CMW (Compton’s Most Wanted) with my partner MC Eiht. We have had platinum and gold success over the past 30 years with our projects as a group and solo.

I’ve also evolved as a go to producer on the west and worked with a slew of artists wit gold and platinum success like 213 (Snoop Dogg Warren G and Nate Dogg rip), above the law, xzibit, kokane exc.

Since then, I’ve formed my own company called BOOMDOCZ PRODUCTIONS in which I drop solo projects and artists of my own. I also do merch and sell on my web site BOOMDOCZ.COM.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has been hard coming from where I come from and the choices I’ve made in life. I was locked up on a few actions and missed a lot, but it made me who I am today so I’m good.

Can you give our readers some background on your music?
I love producing projects and putting together vintage artist that’s been missed in our culture. I’m proud that I can get a MC REN (NWA) or a BIG MIKE (GHETTO BOYS) exc. to still be in the game. I’m proud to be still relevant to the game and still be able to be heard fro a whole different set of hip hop lovers today and hold my own.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Touring as a youngster with CMW was the best year of my life. Music was original and being in those diff time zones was dope.
