Today we’d like to introduce you to Tesha Smith.

Tesha Smith

Hi Tesha, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I am a certified Breath Work, Certified Sound Bath, and Yoga Teacher, and I have been helping others in the wellness space for over 7 years. With a degree in Psychology, my love for the human psyche, the mind, and ancient healing practices inform my teachings and techniques. My journey in the world has aligned me with brands and public figures such as Savage Fenty, Fabletics, the US Federal Reserve Bank, Tech Style Fashion Group, Black Women for Wellness Collective, and more. I found yoga after sustaining a back injury and scoliosis. Yoga lead me to find meditation, which helped me with healing feelings of anxiety and depression. I searched for ways to feel better and was able to heal myself with breathwork, movement, and sound. And as they say, “the rest is history.” Helping change a person’s sadness to happiness brings me so much joy, and using my gifts to change the frequency of the world – one person at a time – is what matters most to me.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Along the way of building my business, I encountered several struggles, including gaining visibility, knowing when to delegate, and marketing. Let’s discuss each of these challenges in detail:

1. Gaining visibility: One of the significant struggles I faced was establishing visibility for my business. In the early stages, it can be challenging to stand out among competitors and capture the attention of potential customers. I had to invest time and effort in building a strong online presence through website optimization, search engine optimization (SEO), and social media marketing. It required consistent content creation, networking, and engaging with my target audience to increase brand awareness and attract customers.

2. Knowing when to delegate: As an entrepreneur, it’s common to wear multiple hats and handle various tasks. However, a significant challenge for me was determining when to delegate responsibilities. Initially, I found it difficult to let go of certain tasks and trust others to handle them effectively. However, as the business grew, I realized that delegating tasks to competent team members or outsourcing certain functions not only relieved my workload but also allowed me to focus on strategic decision-making and core business activities. Learning to identify areas where delegation is beneficial was crucial for the growth and scalability of my business.

3. Marketing: Another struggle I encountered was developing effective marketing strategies. Effective marketing is essential for reaching the target audience and driving sales. However, with the ever-evolving digital landscape, it can be challenging to keep up with the latest trends and techniques. I had to invest time in researching and understanding my target market, experimenting with different marketing channels, and analyzing the results to refine my strategies. It required continuous learning and adapting to changes in consumer behavior and technology to stay competitive.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Blessed and Abundant Healing Co.?

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Yes, the COVID-19 crisis has taught me important lessons. One of the key takeaways has been the value of offering virtual services that clients can access from home. Providing remote access to services allows me to reach a wider audience and adapt changing circumstances, such as social distancing measures and lockdowns.

Additionally, the pandemic has highlighted the importance of diversifying income streams and creating multiple tiers of services within a business. This approach can help to ensure financial stability and resilience in the face of unexpected disruptions. By offering different levels of services, such as soundbath certification and instructor training for aspiring professionals, I can cater to a broader range of clients while also creating additional revenue streams.

Furthermore, the crisis has underscored the significance of being adaptable and open to innovation. Businesses that have been able to pivot their offerings and embrace new technologies have often fared better during these challenging times.
