I was working in corporate technology law and would seek out new spas as a way to escape the stresses of the boardroom. I started making handmade body care gifts for friends. Some started placing orders and it grew into a business.
Has it been a smooth road?
The road is long and windy. Initially, I chose the wrong labels and the ink would run in the shower. I had to learn FTC guidelines for product copy. Navigating a changing economy allowed us to successfully integrate an online digital presence. Capitalization is an ongoing issue for any business. We plan for rainy days. I want my employees to feel secure in their employment.

Travertine is a premium brand of skin and body care products. We travel the globe for inspiration, ingredients and ancient skincare rituals. The result is a line of bio-available, vitamin-rich, botanical, vegan and cruelty-free products.
We make products with quality ingredients that have a therapeutic effect. I personally travel to Senegal to source oils and to Europe for packaging.
