Meet Terri Nguyen-Yang of Love Note Events in West Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Terri Nguyen-Yang.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Terri. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
My love for flowers started at a young age, but it didn’t manifest into a passion until a few years ago when I was at a fork road with my career; I could continue to climb the corporate ladder or pursue a medical career I had spent an additional four years in school.

Didn’t like either of those options, I dabbled in a few side projects as a creative outlet, while working full-time (gotta pay off those student loans). Once I put my first arrangement together, I knew instantly what I wanted to do.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
My background in finance helped keep me organized and efficient, but I was clueless when it came to the mechanics of running my own business.

To cut down on my overhead expenses, I used to bribe family and friends to help me out in the studio or make deliveries.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Love Note Events – what should we know?
Love Note Events is a floral design studio. We specialize in weddings, special events, and large floral installations.

Our style is natural, organic, free-flowing, lush and asymmetrical, best described as ‘bohemian chic.’ But we have the fundamentals to create any aesthetic to fit our Clients needs. We make it a priority on using seasonal and locally sourced materials whenever possible.

What sets us apart from other floral design house is that we’re transparent in everything, such as our pricing and the designers who will be working with you. The person who answers your email and the person you meet for your consultation is also the person who will work on your arrangements.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Running your own business can be very lonely. I am thankful for a handful of entrepreneurs who’ve helped me along the way. It really does take a village!

There are too many to names, and I’m sure I will forget someone, but thanks to my close photographer friends (you know who you are) for always willing to come and take pictures of my work. My florist friends who I can email or text when I need help figuring out how to do something.

To my family who is always willing to help me in the studio, to my planner friends for referring me any chance they get and lastly, to my past and future clients. You are the reason why I get to do what I love doing. THANK YOU!
