Cielito Lindo opened in 1986 as a dinner night club. The main dish was and still is The Nation’s Premiere Mariachi So de Mexico de Jose Hernandez and occasionally the home of the Nation’s first all-female Mariachi Reyna de Los Angeles. It’s a 200 seat boutique restaurant and bar with traditional Mexican foods, killer cucumber margaritas. Our guests come from near and far, from San Diego to Santa Barbara to hear the world class music. Mariachi Sol De Mexico was the first Mariachi nominated for a Latin Grammy. They have appeared in multiple motion pictures and sound tracks. We are a family friendly restaurant and multiple generations enjoy this timeless music.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Mostly smooth, if anything its more dealing with State and county regulations, fees and taxes that make doing business increasingly difficult. Our customers are faithful so that helps!!

Nobody in the world has a Mariachi show like ours. Hands down the best Mariachi group in the world, that sets us apart.

Jose Hernandez the founder and owner deserves. The credit for the incredible entertainment, however the Restaurant could have never been a success without the wonderful employees who have been with the company, some for 31 years and the customers who come back year after year… lots of prayers.
