Meet Taylor Williams

Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Williams. She and her team share their story with us below:

In 2020 during the pandemic and with the goal of supporting women, my mother Monica and I launched an online boutique called Taylor A. Collections. My inspiration and excitement came from working with other fashionphiles; I gained a greater understanding of different styles and perspectives while representing Black women in the fashion and beauty space, where women of color are often overlooked and not heard. Our curated collection encourages women to be empowered, inspired, confident, and to project themselves exquisitely.

Taylor A. Collections is a 21st century inspired clothing and accessories boutique originated by myself, Taylor A. Williams. Taylor A. Collections, as an entity, features timeless pieces allowing you to feel sexy, sophisticated, and powerful-all at once.

At Taylor A. Collections we encourage all women of different shapes, size, ages, and skin tones to channel the power that lies within and become the sexy and sophisticated person that’s been there all along. We hope that every woman allows themselves to be open to new styles and different trends that Taylor A. Collections will be releasing regularly. Our ultimate goal is for the timeless woman to be empowered, inspired, confident, and motivated to be a boss babe, and our job is to help them look the part! We encourage women to empower other women and we look forward to supporting them through their ventures as well by featuring a woman on our blog each month who is slaying every aspect of life.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?

Since launching T.A.C online boutique at the end of 2020, it has been a wonderful and exciting journey, however it must be noted that it has also been a learning experience. From working with multiple vendors to ensure the shipment of products come in on time, making sure your international clients get their packages in one piece, creating marketing materials for all products and reaching your target audience. Realizing running ads with zero sales and leftover inventory makes one realize not all successes happen overnight. However, with faith, consistency and intentionality each challenge we’ve faced, we’ve met head-on and have faced it courageously and with joy.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?

To make a long story short, I’m a vibrant entrepreneur and an alumna of The University of Michigan, Stephen M. Ross School of Business.

In my early life, I showed a talent for the performing arts and went on to win a National beauty competition for The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Cynthia Bailey. Winning the Miss Renaissance pageant made an indelible impression on my interests and aspirations. In my career, I’ve worked at fortune 500 companies like Calvin Klein in New York City, NY, Sephora Inc, San Francisco, CA, Naturalicious, and more. Currently, I am working in the mortgage industry and my service has taken many forms over the last few years. I am also a community organizer for Black and Happy Network, an organization and lifestyle brand which celebrates African American identity and culture. In addition, I’m the founder and creator of the I. AM. WOMAN podcast, where I promote and empower women to share their life successes with others and it is proven successful in all aspects of their lives.

Last but not least, I have a social media/branding company, TAW Media Solutions. My national list of clients allows me to leverage marketing and media capabilities. I love to give back to my community by serving as a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, volunteering to feed the homeless, and Gleaners. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, music, traveling, dancing, reading, working out, and yoga. Fun fact, I am a published poet and live by my quote of “Never compromise yourself for the comfort of others”. In the future, I plan to acquire my MBA.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory, there are so many! One of my favorites has to be performing in front of my Grandad on a recorded camera with a toy microphone singing, dancing, and interviewing him as though I was a talk show host. Now that I look back on it, he was probably very annoyed and in his head asking, “What in the world has gotten into this little girl?!” Although this may be true, I appreciate him playing along and seeing the innocence of it all, in addition, supporting my dreams and aspirations starting from a young age. I wonder where that VHS tape is today, haha!
