Meet Tasia Woods

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tasia Woods.

Tasia, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
When I was in the 4th grade I went to an open audition for a stage play called “The Wiz”. When our elementary music teacher asked me to sing, I sang like it was my last chance. I gave it everything I had. All to be told, “You can’t sing, sit down!” Boy not only was my spirit crushed but I vowed to never open my mouth and again.

It wasn’t until I got to high school, I realized that one of my electives coincidently was “Choir” and every other elective was garbage so I didn’t switch. It was there that I found my voice again. Mrs. Diane Trotter is the reason why I’m a gospel recording artist today. Not only did she discover the power in my voice but she discovered my ability to command an audience with my tone and passion.

Has it been a smooth road?
It hasn’t been the easiest by far. It’s been an uphill battle. Trying to manage a career as an independent artist, being a wife while raising 4 daughters is tough mentally, physically and emotionally.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Tasia Woods – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I am an independent gospel recording artist. Know for my eclectic sound. My ability to sing multiple genres of music sets me apart. I’ve been able to travel to Belize, Europe, Japan just to name a few doing what I love “singing”.

I’m so proud to have released my first single/music video “Pick Your Head Up” in 2016 that’s doing very well even now and now I’m preparing to release yet another single entitle “Live” July 2018.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
The thing I like most about our city is that there’s a lot of opportunities here. It’s like there’re no excuses to not be able to succeed. The thing that I dislike about our city is the high volume of violence in our inner-city neighborhoods…
